Carolynn CAUDILL TO SPEAK AT NATIONAL AIIM
CONFERENCE

Oklahoma County Clerk Carolynn Caudill has been chosen to present a session on “County Records or Land Records Preservation and Access Solutions” at the ECM West 2006 Conference, November 7-8, 2006, at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, CA. Caudill submitted her proposed topic in conjunction with HTC Global Services, Inc., of Troy, Michigan, to highlight the data conversion project they performed in the Oklahoma County Clerk’s Real Estate Office. The project is in its final stages, and when completed, all county land records from 1889 to present will be available online to the public at no charge.

Caudill believes Oklahoma County may be the first county in the nation to have all of their land records available on line for research. Her project was one of a few selected out of over 200 submissions. The letter of acceptance stated, “The inaugural ECM West Conference is the premier educational event for professionals working in Enterprise Content Management on the West Coast. Your presentation will help to ensure that the ECM West Conference will be one of the industry’s most informative and high-quality events.” The letter stressed the conference sessions will be technology and strategy driven, not vendor or product specific.

Caudill said, “It is a great honor being selected to speak at this national conference and exposition. It again shows the Oklahoma County Clerk’s Office is at the forefront of technology and providing services to the public in a most user-friendly and cost-efficient way.” She added, “I don’t know of many government agencies that provide this level of service to the public at no charge. I believe the public shouldn’t have to keep paying for something they have already paid for once.”

The conference is being conducted by the Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM). Enterprise Content Management (ECM) is the technologies used to capture, manage, store, preserve, and deliver content and documents related to organizational processes.
